Q: What do I do if my pet passes away during off hours?
A :If your loved one passes after hours and you are not comfortable keeping them until we are open you can always call us to schedule a pickup from your home or bring them to the office, depending on time (additional fees ensue)  If you decide to keep them with you until we our next business day we recommend that you place something absorbent under them, ie a towel, thier bedding, a plastic sheet. We also recommend keeping them in a cool area of the house and also elevating the head.  Most smaller animals, if kept in a cool area, will be ok for 24-48 hrs, larger animals might only be 24 hours. We always have one of our caring staff on call every night to answer any questions.

Q: Do you offer after hours home pickups or office drop offs?

A: Yes our phones are forwarded to one of our staff members every night and are available if needed additional fees will be discussed prior to scheduling.

Q: How do I know that I am getting my pet’s cremains back?
A: The answer is trust. You have to be able to trust the company you are doing business with.  When choosing your pet after care facility, be sure to ask these questions: How long has your company been in business?  Can I take a tour? May I be present at the cremation?  San Diego Pet Memorial Park has has an open door policy, which means you can come to our facility at anytime and we will give you a tour and explain how we maintain the integrity of your pets cremains. We track each pet with a unique bar code label this bar code is assigned to your loved one from the time we schedule the pick up from the vet or when they are brought to the park from the owner. This unique bar codes allows us to confirm the breed, color, gender, name and owner to ensure that we are preparing the correct pet.  We also use this bar code to track the location of your loved one from time of pick up to return to vet or return to owner.

Q: How do you preserve the body until cremation?

A: Unlike humanes we do not embomb pets.  The San Diego Pet Memorial Park uses a walk in refridgerator kept at very low tempreture but does not freeze them. The walk in refridgerator has several shelves so no pets are stacked on each other but gently placed on one of the shelves until their cremation.  We do have freezers that we use at our facility but these will hold those that will be cremated communally.

A: General maintenance covers the basic operating expenses of San Diego Pet Memorial Park. We collect modest yearly fees in order to maintain the grounds in a manner consistent with your expectations when you place your pet with us.

A: Yes. The Burial Agreement is issued to plot-holders. An annual payment is required for his/her proportionate share of the overall general maintenance of the park.

Q: Does the Maintenance Fee remain the same?
A: No. Over-time consumer goods and services are subject to inflation. The expenses associated with general maintenance are no exception (i.e., maintenance staff salaries and payroll benefits, maintenance tools and supplies, etc.).
